Deadmau5 playing Ultra Music Festival 2009

I’m a few days away from making the pilgrimage to Miami to experience my first ever Winter Music Conference (WMC). For the uninitiated, the WMC is a week long event that brings together all those in the electronic music industry for a week in the Florida sun.

The conference itself tends to be a lot of panel discussions, technology showcases and networking for those involved, as well as the IDMAs (International Dance Music Awards) that recognise the achievements of those producing and mixing music all over the world.

For everyone else, me included, it’s a week (23rd-28th March) of pool parties and amazing club nights with the world’s best DJs and producers providing the entertainment. I’m really looking forward to it, my hardest decisions at the moment are working out which parties to attend (there are hundreds) and when I’m going to fit in sleeping!
